While we played without drums the crowd was one of the most responsive we have seen - great people and thanks to Kris Noyes for getting us in there and re-booking us in 2009. Vas is dis füsionhouse?
It all started back in 2007 when Rob Sparre and Cooke Harvey had discussed cleaning up some of the old Centrepeace studio tapes. Former guitarist Nick Bucci was glad to turn over the acetates for remixing and mastering to CD.
After some discussion Rob and Cooke came around to the realization that the process of listening, remixing etc. was going to be so time consuming and tedious they asked themselves "Why not just re-record all the tunes?" That quickly grew into, "Well, if we are going to 're-learn' all those tunes why not also play them out live?"
After checking schedules they determined to enlist drummer John Cassidy and guitarist Dave Bozenhard. Rob and Cooke had played with both of them in various bands. Clearly they would need a saxophonist. So the obvious choice was Vince Marinelli, an accomplished reed player and keyboardist. The scene was set.
Their first gig in November of 2007 was a resounding success as diehard Centerpeace fans came out as well as new friends who had never heard 'fusion' music. The band worked up chestnuts from Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Tribal Tech, Pat Methany and Stanley Clarke. The following gig added Weather Report and Herbie Hancock tunes. At a recent gig at Steel City in Phoenixville it became apparent there were fusion fans from 'back in the day' as well as younger fans of the 'jam band' era. All good!
welcome!
